Earnest L. Wysong Jr., of Winchester, passed away on September 29, 2025, at Reid Health. He was born on January 1, 1952, in Winchester, to Earnest L. Sr. and Jean Coryell Wysong.

Earnest was a hardworking man who gave selflessly, even when he had little to give. He dedicated 33 years of service to the State Highway Department before retiring.

He was a member of LifeSpring Church North and found joy in being outdoors. He enjoyed working with his hands, driving, traveling, watching sports, and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Reta Wysong of Winchester; six children, Keith (Katey) Wysong of Jackson, TN, Ken (Cinda) Wysong of Athens, AL, Kasey (Andrea) Wysong of Richmond, Heather (Curtis) Couch of Lynn, Jeff (Kailei) Guffey of New Castle, and Amanda Sumwalt of Winchester; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Wysong of Tennessee; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew, JR. (Tiffany) Wysong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at LifeSpring Church North, with burial to follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
