Dorothy Joan Morris87 of Richmond passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2024. She was born March 18, 1936, in Hindman, Kentucky to George and Marie Gayheart Hays and lived in Richmond most of her life.

She worked for a short time as a cashier at Cox's Supermarket, but she was truly a homemaker.

Dorothy loved to bake, garden, and can, and she loved to take your money playing cards.

She and her husband were longtime members of the Moose Lodge and the VFW.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years Gene Morris, three children Michael (Jennifer) Morris of Connersville, Gregory Morris of Richmond, Stacy (James) Blanton of Richmond, three grandchildren Brittany, Donovan, and Becky, four great-grandchildren Josiah, Elijah, Rylan, and Gatlin, one sister Shelby Amburgey, one brother Granby Hays, special sister in law Betty Lou Steele, a special brother in law Stan Adams, several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Erma Adams.
