Dorothy "Dot" L. Pettit of Fairhaven, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her granddaughter's home in Centerville, Indiana. Dorothy was born on April 24, 1931, to Lee F. King Sr., and Menifee Kirby King, in Springdale, Ohio. She married Arnold V. Pettit on May 8, 1946. Arnold and Dorothy were married 53 years before he passed in 1999. She worked and retired from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her spouse, both parents, 13 brothers, and sisters. She is survived by her 4 children.  Arnita Rose "Dunbar" Wood of Richmond, Indiana; Vincent Lee Pettit of Loganville, Georgia; Steven Martin Pettit of Trenton, Ohio and Rebecca  Anne "Best" Phillips of Fairhaven, Ohio. Additionally, survived by innumerable grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She will be laid to rest by immediate family members at the Fairhaven Cemetery in Fairhaven, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St.Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital or your favorite charity . Stegall-Berheide-Orr funeral home is handking arrangements.
