On November 15th at around 11 pm, Donna Jean Centers Riden ("Jean") died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family. Born September 27, 1933, Jean lived a life of service, to her family and her church. She served as a minister's wife and partner for over 50 years, and she left a legacy of love.  She was 90 years old.  Jean was born and raised in Cambridge City, IN, the youngest of three children; her parents were Dewey and Bessie Clontz Centers. As a minister's wife, she lived the majority of her adult years in Richmond.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother; eventually, she became known as "GIGI" (Great Grandmother). Holding her grandbabies was her favorite pastime. When she was no longer able to walk, she loved to take the great-grandchildren for a ride on her motorized chair.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Riden, her two brothers Charles and Robert Centers, and a grandchild Megan Riden.

She is survived by five children: Shelley Riden, Karen Riden, Randy Riden, Dana Davis, and Scot Riden), nine grandchildren: Anna Carter, Joi Steele, Amber Hayes, Joseph Hayes, Mary Hayes, Rachai Hayes, Jasmine Walsh, John Riden, and Lindsey Long; 17 great-grandchildren, plus numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Jean truly missed her husband Kenneth, with whom she shared 71 years of her life. Now, she and her beloved are happily reunited in heaven.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in the funeral chapel of Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
