Deborah Jean (Lichtenfels) Follis, age 76, of Richmond, Indiana passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023.  Debbie was born on May 22, 1947, in Richmond, Indiana to Ray and Helen Lichtenfels.

Debbie was a loving mother, devoted sister, doting mammaw, and a less-than-exemplary driver.  She was also a loyal friend and the biggest cheerleader for her loved ones. Debbie had a love for dance, music, and reading, and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There she made several life-long friendships that she cherished.

Debbie retired from Earlham College where she worked as an acquisitions clerk at Lilly Library. She worked there for many years and loved working with the people there, as well as being surrounded by books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Joyce Hackleman and Ramona Homer.

She is survived by her children, Sheri (Roger) Lakes and Kenny (Tracey) Follis; grandchildren, Brittany (Donny) Reid, Amanda (Jimmie) Haager, and Rachel Lakes; great-grandchildren, Ryley, Gage, and Peighton who all love and miss her dearly.  She is also survived by sisters Sandra Wright and Roberta Duncan, more nieces and nephews than can be mentioned, and special friends Cindy and Jeannie.

She was known by family, friends, and everyone who met her as a kind soul who loved unconditionally and was always willing to listen.  She was a light through all of life's struggles, even her own.

She was resilient until the end, fighting through years of health troubles with a positive attitude and a smile on her face.  She fought the good fight with the help of many amazing healthcare workers at Arbor Trace and Fresenius Dialysis Center.  Her family would also like to thank IU North for making her passing peaceful.
