We deeply regret the passing of our beloved mother, Cynthia Ann Irwin, 80, on Wednesday, November 5th, after a long and courageous battle with illness.  She was born on November 21, 1944, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Marion and Betty Sherer.

Cynthia graduated from Richmond High School.  She married James Irwin on January 26th, 1963, and together raised a beautiful family.  She was a lifelong resident of Richmond. Cynthia worked at Gennett Records, Lingle Real Estate, Jenkins Real Estate, and graduated from Indiana University East.  Cynthia loved her family unconditionally.  Her love and resilience each day were truly inspiring.  She enjoyed making art, being in nature, traveling, watching basketball, going to the horse tracks, listening to music (specifically live), hosting holidays, and the pets she cared for over the years.

Her survivors include: her son Steve Irwin of Richmond, IN, daughter Amy Neighbors (Bryan) of Eldon, MO, son Marc Irwin (Julia) of Williamsburg, IN, grandchildren Katie, Nick, Adam (Olivia), Abigail, Alysa, and Nathaniel.  Beloved sister and brother, Joyce Parker (Mike) and Mike Sherer (Cathy).  Nephew and nieces Jennifer, Helena, and Colin, and many friends and family--she loved them all so.  Her husband preceded her in death in 2024.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home.
