Charles Isaac Estes (Ike) passed away at Brookdale Assisted Living on June 10, 2025. He was born September 15, 1931, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Minnie Dell and Cornelius Estes.

Ike was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War from 1953–1954.

He was a professional driver, having driven for Trailways for 37 years, Larry Sparks for 7 years, and delivered medication for Phillips Drug Store.

For 11 years, he and his wife (Grace) volunteered as Bluegrass DJs at Earlham College.

He was a longtime and active member of Northside Church of Christ.

Ike always had a story to tell and never met a stranger. He enjoyed innocent mischief, making people smile, and he loved being outside. Charles had a knack for tinkering and solving problems, whether big or small.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 72 years, Grace Estes; daughter, Karen Dixon Estes; two brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by daughters Patricia and Anita Estes; grandchildren: Michael Thurston (Tiffany), Mikaela Estes (Norbert Batista), Isaac Scoggins, and Ashley Osborne (Donovan); and great-grandchildren. Sydney and Ethan Thurston, Skylar and Jack Augenstine, Elijah and Mckynli Estes, Kennidi Wilson, Jansyn Osborne, Memory Lane & Serenity Grace, and Holden Scoggins.

Per their request, the memorial service will be a celebration of Charles and Grace's life together.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Northside Church of Christ with Tom Purdy officiating; Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the church.
