Obituary

Carolyn Sue Trotter, 82, lovingly known as "Sassy Sue" to many, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at Ambassador Healthcare, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on November 4, 1942, to Benjamin and Rebecca Mathews, Sue was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She was in the last graduating class from Webster High School in 1961  and worked faithfully at the Richmond State Hospital for 25 years as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA). Her compassionate nature earned her many friends and coworkers throughout her life.

From a young age, Sue had a passion for dance and roller skating, traveling across the United States to compete in American Amateur Roller Skating Championships in both singles and doubles. She had a zest for life- whether it was traveling, dancing, or watching her favorite Westerns.

A creative soul, Sue loved home design and remodeling. Her family often returned home to find a room completely rearranged-or a door mysteriously moved to a new spot. She kept an immaculate home and was famously known for being a one-woman moving crew, able to rearrange an entire room in under 15 minutes, furniture and all.

She was the proud and loving mother of three children –Rick, Julia, and Pat-and was actively involved in every part of their lives. Always their biggest cheerleader, Sue never missed an opportunity to support them. Her grandchildren were her world, each one deeply loved and cherished.

Sue is survived by her three children, Ricky (Leann) Pardo, Julia (Greg) Finley, Pat (Traci) Trotter, and five grandchildren, Cody Pardo, Alison Finley, Colton Pardo, Hannah Trotter, and Holly Trotter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William "Billy" Pardo, who died in 1967, and her second husband of 46 years, Myron Trotter, who died in 2015.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Ambassador Heath Care and the wonderful, loving staff and friends who brought joy and comfort to Sue's final years. She truly was a Golden Girl – full of fun, sass, and heart; she was loved and will be missed by all.
