Carolyn Sue Race, 87, of Richmond, passed away, Wednesday evening, July 24, 2024, at Arbor Trace in Richmond. The daughter of the late John and Pearl (Phenis) Smith, Carolyn was born in Richmond, on September 23, 1936.
She lived in Fountain City, Centerville, New Paris, for 8 years at the Leland Legacy and a year and a half at Arbor Trace. God sent an Angel to take her to heaven, where she has no pain, and dances with the Angels.
Carolyn was full of Life and had a heart of gold! She was a beautiful soul who loved her family & friends.
She loved dancing with her sister, Gloria, and enjoyed her poodles Queenie & Peppy. She enjoyed reading books, playing Bingo & loved to spend time with family & friends, especially her best friend, Jenny. She loved flying to California to see her son, Terry & Tina Trisler & Family.
Carolyn worked in production for Stevens Wire, and Wharton Home Improvement as an office administrator; she embraced her primary role as a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Terry (Tina) Trisler of Trabuco Canyon, California; her daughter, Diana (Brad) Harman of Richmond; her sister, Gloria Armstrong of Ohio, and sister-in-law, Carol Smith of Richmond. She loved all her nieces & nephews on both sides of the family!
She loved her grandchildren, Shawn (Elly) Daniels, Ryan (Carrie) Daniels, Cory (Nicole) Trisler, Jordan Trisler, Presley Trisler, Nicki Landrum & Cheyenne Trisler, and 12 great-grandchildren. God blessed her with extended family, the Race Family & Harman Family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson D. Race; her brothers, Bobby Smith and Jerry (Janet) Smith; her first husband, Eugene Trisler; her son, Richard Eugene Trisler; grandson, Andrew Trisler; her aunts, Rose Loycano & Mary McGill; special friend, Vaughn Reigal.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Lantz officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville.
