Carol Ann Banning 76, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly May 11, 2021, at Reid Health. She was born August 13, 1944, in Richmond to John T. and Jean Long Hill and lived here all of her life.

She was a caregiver to her husband for the last 25 years and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Carol is survived by her husband Jim, one daughter Dana (Mark) Garard of Richmond, three stepsons Joe (Carolyn) Banning of Murfreesboro, TN., Jeff (Nettsie) Banning of Mooresville, IN., Terry (Nina) Banning of Williamsburg, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister Pat Sowers of Richmond, several nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her great-granddaughter Lilly Lynn Banning - Baker, one brother Tom Hill, one sister Sue Porterfield.

Graveside services will be private, with Rev. Cindy Ploughe officiating. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
