Billy Leroy Manning 80, of Richmond, passed away June 10, 2021, at Reid Health after a short illness. He was born June 18, 1940, in Winchester to Marvin and Thelma Kennedy Manning and lived here all of his life.

He was a veteran serving in the Army.

He retired from RP&L where he worked as a lineman.

Billy was a member of the VFW Kirk-Little post #1108, the American Legion Post #65; he was a volunteer for the Wayne County Honor Guard and several other organizations. Billy was heavily involved in the recovery community in Richmond, and Habitat for Humanity.

He is survived by his children Felicia (Shawn) Cross of Richmond, Dennis (Conni) Chasteen of Hope, five grandchildren include Peyton Cross, Micah, Seth, Joshua, Jude Chasteen, two great-grandchildren Berkly, Ledger, several nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 50 years Janice Manning, two brothers, and one sister.

Services will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Chasteen; inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
