Bill J. Nelson 88 of Richmond passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2024, at Reid Health. He was born February 22, 1935, in Madisonville, TN, to Lester and Lucille Lankford Nelson and lived here most of his life.

He worked for Richmond Home and H A Williams before starting Bills Antenna Service which he owned until his retirement.

Bill enjoyed USAC racing along with go-cart racing; he was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Carol, two daughters Kathy (Richard) Shaw, and Diana (Jim) Haagar both of Richmond, one son Barry (Lisa) Nelson of Parker City; two stepsons Anthony (Christie) Arnold of Richmond, Charles Ray ( Tammy) Arnold of New Castle, seven grandchildren Stephania, Jimmie, Billie, Stacie, Jackie, Leah, and Gary, eight step-grandchildren Jeremy, Kristi, Sean, Ashley, Trevor, Zach, Brock, Kristina several great-grandchildren, two nieces Janie and Julie.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his stepson Tim Arnold, and his sister Shirley Zwissler.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Floyd officiating; burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
