Betty Ashenfelter 69 of Fountain City died August 6, 2022, at Reid Health after a short illness. She was born August 12, 1952, in Richmond to Alvin and Edith Mann Laytart and lived here all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Gateway Church.

Betty was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and "Gaga." She is survived by her husband of 51 years Douglas, two children Jeremy (Emily) Ashenfelter of Indianapolis, and Kristina (Todd) Yates of Fountain City, eight grandsons, two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, her sister Anna Kelley, two brothers David and Sonny Laytart, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Gene Laytart.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Monaghan officiating. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum.
