Obituary

Bennie E. Crawford, born October 1, 1953, to the late Bennie and Beulah (Martin) Crawford, passed away on June 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bennie lived a life marked by selflessness, hard work, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

He was a dedicated family man who did everything in his power to support and care for his loved ones, no matter the circumstances. Bennie spent his entire career in construction—a true hard worker who took pride in every job and never backed down from a challenge.

To those who knew him, Bennie was more than just a provider. He was the best fisherman around, a lover of the outdoors, and someone who could always find joy and gratitude, even in the smallest things. In 1994, he was honored by the State of Indiana with a "Fish of the Year" certificate—an achievement he was especially proud of. His favorite days were those spent at the lake with his family, fishing, camping, and enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.

He is survived by his lifelong partner from childhood, and beloved wife, Karen R. Crawford. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. He also leaves behind his children: Kevin Crawford, Tracie (Dan) Bentley, and Aaron Crawford; and his cherished grandchildren: Tosha Wharton (Jon), Joshua Crawford, Ben Crawford, Olivia Crawford, and Brianna Bentley; three great grandchildren, Kaedyn, Kynzlie, and Keelynn. Bennie is also survived by his sister, Sue Ann Morrison, his brother, Fred Crawford, and many nieces and nephews who will remember his warm heart and strong spirit.

In addition to his parents, Bennie was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Crawford.

Bennie Crawford was a man who gave his best in every season of life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
