Barbara Sha Cox 86 of Richmond Indiana passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 25, 2022, at her home. She was born August 3, 1936, in New Castle IN to Herbert and Gertrude (Shade) Anderson.

Barbara had a passion for making a difference. She was a retired Registered Nurse, heavily involved as a volunteer with the Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP), and founded the Indiana CAFO watch. She fought hard to always protect her family farm and other family farms in Indiana and across the country, from large factory farms.

When she wasn't traveling around Indiana or the country for her work she was traveling for pleasure with her husband and grandchildren. Barbara had traveled to almost every US state and National Park. Her favorite was Yellowstone National Park where she, her husband, and her oldest granddaughter loved to just sit and watch the diverse wildlife and be in amazement at God's creation. Her other favorite place to travel to was Disney World where she always got to be a kid again. Barbara and her Husband started taking their grandchildren when their oldest was 4yo and continued to go back, totaling 7-8 trips over the many years. To this day her office is filled with Eeyore and her Kitchen window is lined with Mickey and his Friends.

One of Barbara's biggest joys was being a Grandmother and this is evident by the back door covered in magnets from her 3 grandchildren's sports teams, the posters (made by them 3), and countless pictures of her grandchildren throughout her house. She and her husband never missed a sporting event, a recital, a school function, a Horse show a birthday, or any other special occasion.

Barbara is Survived by her husband of 64 years, Dan Cox, her two children Todd Alan Cox and Lisa Sha (Troy) Forkner, as well as her three grandchildren Courtney Sha (Andrew) Hopkins, Adam Forkner, and Abby Sha Forkner. As well as other family and many friends and supporters.
