Anna M. "Jip" Lackey 92 of Richmond passed away peacefully in her home, June 29, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born to Pete and Indie Simpson, November 18, 1928, in Wayne County, Kentucky; she moved to Richmond, Indiana in the early 1940s and remained in the Richmond area.

Anna married Bobbie J. Lackey, August 8, 1947; they had four children Theresa A. Jelly, Deborah K. Cox, Bobbie V. Lackey, and Nancy Phenis.
Anna was a homemaker and spent her life taking care of her family; she played a huge role in raising her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Wanda (Norman) Brooks, one son Bobbie V. Lackey, her son-in-law Tom Cox, eight grandchildren John A. (Angie Heitkamp) Lackey, Lisa (Eddie) Jelly-May, Craig (Heather) Gaskill, Indie (Jamie) Pierce, Sarah Cox, Sean (Vickie) Lackey, Stacey (Eric) Welden, Heidi VanHoose, fourteen great-grandchildren Todd McClure, Joseph (Erin) Halberstadt, Kayla (Collin) Bodiker, John M. (Karrie) Lackey, Eddie (Andraya) May II, Samantha (Pedro) Lackey, Matthew Welden, Austin Lackey, Chloe Gaskill, Alyssa Lackey, Joshua Welden, Lillie Gaskill, Chris Bowling, Leah Bowling; four great-great-grandchildren Robert Bodiker, Maisie Anna McClure, Eddie May III, Collin Bodiker Jr., several nieces, and nephews.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years Bobbie J. Lackey who died in 2009, her three daughters; Nancy Phenis who died in 2005, Debbie Cox who died in 2006, Theresa Jelly who died in 2009, granddaughter April Clark who died in 2018, five brothers Ray, Denver, Drexel, Reed, and Bob Simpson; five sisters Dorothy Ragan, Vema Simpson, Patricia Alean Aten, Shirley Fountain, Joda Moore.
The family would like to thank Jamie Culbertson of Southern Care Hospice, Brooke Vaughn of Adaptive Home Care, and Dr. Janet Meckley for all the care they gave to Anna and her family.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor John Shepherd officiating; burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
