Alice Jeanne Magaw, age 87, of Richmond, Indiana, died on February 29, 2024. Born November 26, 1936, in Centerville, Indiana, to Charles Ned and Anne Robbins Cook, Jeanne was a resident of this community all of her life. She attended Earlham College. She worked as an artist side-by-side with her husband for many years. Jeanne enjoyed her family's Centerville History, hot air ballooning, sports car rallies, traveling, entertaining, Mexican food, shopping, a tall Rum and Coke, most men, and her dear friends, including Marty Johnson. Storytelling was her passion. Her many trips to Russia were the highlight of her life. She disliked roosters, yellow flowers, and any form of structure. Jeanne was a dreamer.

Survivors include her daughter, Marta Powers, and son-in-law, Trey Powers; her dog, Buck; her sister, Jane Conti; niece, Peggy Davidson and nephew, Chuck Klein; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Magaw, and two sisters, Lee Seagers and Pat Skinner.

Following her wishes, no formal service of her passing will be held. Rather, her family will scatter her and her husband's ashes in a place she loved.
