Robert “Joe” Anderson 66 of Richmond died February 1, 2013 at Reid Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born April 1, 1946 in Richmond and lived here all his life.

He retired from Purina-Land-O-Lakes and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was active in bible study and music. He was an avid golfer playing at Highland Lake Golf Club, Elks Country Club, and Liberty Country Club. He was a tinkerer working with painting and ceramics, he enjoyed gardening and fishing. Joe always helped others, making them happy.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years Melanie, six children Amy (Earl) Ailes of Indianapolis, Joe and John of Eldorado, Ohio, Jack (Debbie) Evans of Jacksonville, Florida, Melanie (Gary) Vaughn of Richmond, and Joe Evans of Amarillo, Texas, seventeen grandchildren, one brother Jerry Anderson of Roanoke, Virginia, and his beloved Cocker Spaniel Delilah. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Rick Anderson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday February 6, 2013 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. John Maples officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
